Why we started Norway Campers
Norway Campers is an owner-run camper-van rental in Norway, founded in 2013. The company operates two depots — Oslo (Sundbyvegen 3, Maura) and Tromsø (Salarøyvegen 159, Kvaløysletta) — with a five-van fleet and rates starting at 860 NOK per day with unlimited kilometres in mainland Norway. Languages handled by the reservations team: English, Norwegian, German.
It started in 2013 with a single converted van and one question: why does renting a camper in Norway cost twice what it should? The big international fleets had prices to match the SUV-rental playbook — expensive base rates, padded insurance, paid-per-kilometre charges that punish the long Norwegian distances.
We took the opposite approach. We kept the fleet small enough to know every van individually. We added winter equipment as standard, not as an upsell. We made one-way rentals between Oslo and Tromsø a real option, not just a theoretical line on the price list. And we kept the rates honest — from 860 NOK per day, unlimited kilometres in Norway included, tolls invoiced at cost with no surcharge.
13 years later, the fleet has grown to five purpose-built vans across two depots, but the philosophy hasn't changed: keep it simple, keep it honest, keep prices accessible so road trips in Norway aren't only for high-end travellers.

Arctic-ready as standard
Every van has a diesel parking heater, winter tyres October–April, and is rated for Tromsø-winter conditions. No "winter package" surcharge.
Two depots, real one-way
Pick up in Oslo (15 min from OSL Airport), drop off in Tromsø — or vice versa. Discounted relocation offers when we need to move vans.
Owner-run, small enough to care
Five vans, two depots, no call-centre. When you email rent@norwaycampers.no a person answers.
