We have not appointed a Data Protection Officer, as we are not required to do so. Any question about personal data should be sent to the address above.
What we collect and why
When you make a booking
To enter into and perform a rental agreement we collect your name, contact details, date of birth, driving licence details, booking and payment information, and details of the rental itself.
Legal basis: performance of a contract (GDPR Art. 6(1)(b)). Some of it we are also required to keep by law, for example accounting records (Art. 6(1)(c)).
When you contact us
If you email or write to us we process the contents of that correspondence in order to answer you. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in responding to enquiries (Art. 6(1)(f)).
When you use the live chat
This website offers a live chat provided by tawk.to. If you open a chat, the contents of the conversation and any details you give us in it — together with technical data such as your IP address and browser — are processed by tawk.to on our behalf so that we can answer you. Chat cookies are set for this purpose.
Legal basis: your consent (Art. 6(1)(a)) where the chat is loaded on the basis of consent, and our legitimate interest in answering customer enquiries (Art. 6(1)(f)).
When you use this website
Cookies and similar technologies that are strictly necessary for the site to function are set automatically. Cookies used for statistics and marketing — including those loaded through Google Tag Manager — are set only after you consent through our cookie banner.
Legal basis: your consent (Art. 6(1)(a)), which you may withdraw at any time. A full list of the cookies in use is given in our Cookie Policy.
Who we share data with
We share personal data only where it is necessary, and only with parties acting for us or where we are legally required to do so. In particular:
- Nets Easy AS — payment processing for bookings.
- tawk.to — the live chat on this website.
- Google — where you have consented to statistics or marketing cookies, via Google Tag Manager.
- Our IT, hosting and email suppliers, acting on our instructions.
- Public authorities, where we are legally required to disclose.
Where a supplier processes data outside the EU/EEA, we rely on the European Commission’s standard contractual clauses or another lawful transfer mechanism.
We do not sell your personal data.
How long we keep it
Booking and customer records are kept for as long as needed to perform the rental agreement and to handle any claims arising from it. Accounting records are kept for the period required by Norwegian bookkeeping legislation. Enquiries that do not lead to a booking are deleted when they are no longer relevant. Consent records and cookie data are kept for the period stated in our Cookie Policy.
Your rights
Under the GDPR you have the right to request access to your personal data, to have inaccurate data corrected, to have data erased, to restrict or object to processing, and to receive data you provided to us in a portable format. Where processing is based on consent, you may withdraw that consent at any time — this does not affect the lawfulness of processing carried out before withdrawal.

If you believe we are handling your data unlawfully you may complain to the Norwegian Data Protection Authority, Datatilsynet — datatilsynet.no.
Is providing your data required?
The personal data we ask for during booking is needed to enter into and perform the rental agreement, and some of it we are required to hold by law. If it is not provided we cannot complete the rental. Everything else — the live chat, and statistics and marketing cookies — is entirely optional.
Automated decision-making
We do not use your personal data for automated decision-making or profiling that produces legal effects for you or similarly significantly affects you.
Changes to this statement
We may update this statement as our services or the law change. The date at the top shows when it was last revised.
